Skip Martin is co-founder of RoMa Craft Tobac and co-owner/operator of Nica Sueño in Estelí, where he lives and blends. A 1990s cigar-boom retailer, he ran a Galveston shop until Hurricane Ike destroyed it, then chased a private-label cigar that became CroMagnon with Michael Rosales after Costa Rica trials failed. Martin and Esteban Disla built the factory. Martin and Rosales built the company. RoMa is both men. Nica Sueño is Martin plus Disla.
He is the Nicaragua half of the operation: production in Estelí, Austin headquarters on the U.S. side. The 2022 birthday project Quinquagenario was a rare off-campus cigar with Ernesto Perez-Carrillo at Casa Carrillo. Martin is a blender-operator, not a logo-only brand owner.
