Jaime García

Jaime García is the blender and Nicaragua factory lead at My Father Cigars, son of Pepín García. In Cuba he studied agronomy and ran quality control in a state factory. After seeing Cigar Aficionado in 1997 he pushed the family to leave. Sister Janny went first. Pepín and Jaime followed, then opened El Rey de los Habanos in Miami in 2003 with Janny. Tatuaje was the first private-label client.

In 2008 Jaime blended a cigar in secret to honor his father. Pepín found out, tasted it, and approved it. That blend became My Father, and the Estelí factory that opened in 2009 took the same name. Jaime is the public blender of The Judge (2016; Cigar Aficionado Cigar of the Year 2024) and a core partner on Flor de las Antillas (Cigar of the Year 2012) and Le Bijou 1922 (Cigar of the Year 2015). He runs the Nicaragua floor. Pepín remains the patriarch. The factory also rolls Tatuaje, L'Atelier, Crowned Heads, and Ashton Nicaraguan lines. Jaime is family, not STG.
