Aging Room is the boutique marca created by Rafael Nodal and launched in 2011 under his Miami company Boutique Blends (the former Habana Cuba Cigar Co.). The idea was small-batch, extra-aged tobacco rather than a giant catalog: rare lots, limited runs, and blends named like a music program. It worked. Cigar Aficionado placed early Aging Room cigars in its Top 25, named the Quattro F55 Concerto No. 2 of 2013, and later named the Quattro Nicaragua Maestro No. 1 Cigar of the Year in 2019 (96 points). That last cigar is the one most smokers mean when they say Aging Room today.
Ownership and distribution are easy to mix up. Nodal still owns Aging Room. Altadis U.S.A. has distributed the brand since 2017, and Nodal is also Altadis vice president of product capability, blending heritage projects such as Montecristo Nicaragua and Trinidad Espiritu. The company is not an Altadis house marca the way Montecristo (NC) is. Production splits by line. Core Dominican Aging Room (Quattro Original, Small Batch M356, Solera, and related) is rolled with José "Jochy" Blanco at Tabacalera Palma in Tamboril. The Nicaraguan flagship, Quattro Nicaragua, and the 2025 La Boheme reboot are made with A.J. Fernandez at San Lotano. Cigar Aficionado has also noted some Aging Room work with Nestor Plasencia Jr., so the graph includes a lighter Plasencia Estelí production edge.
