Acid is the infused brand that made Drew Estate famous. Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel started the company in New York in the late 1990s. They named Acid after Brooklyn artist Scott "Acid" Chester (Arielle Chester Industrial Design). The cigars debuted around the 1999 trade show. Drew Estate calls them infused, not flavored: long-filler tobacco aged with herbs, oils, and botanicals in aroma rooms, not a cheap spray on short filler. The recipe is treated as a trade secret.
Who makes Acid? Jonathan Drew's company, by hand at La Gran Fábrica in Estelí. Familiar lines include Kuba Kuba, Blondie, Cold Infusion, 1400cc, and Krush. Swisher bought Drew Estate in 2014, so Acid sits inside that company, but the factory and the infusion culture stayed in Estelí. Acid is the infused pole of Drew Estate. Liga Privada is the traditional pole. Same campus, different idea.
